DMR repeater GB7MR was switched on at 18:26pm on 4th July 2018

DMR repeater GB7MR, the DMR repeater for Greater Manchester on the Northern Cluster, was switched on at 18:26pm on 4th July 2018 at its new location.

At the meeting of the Rochdale And District Amateur Radio Society (RADARS) on Wednesday 6th June 2018 it was agreed by the five committee members present and then by all members present that RADARS would sponsor the GB7MR repeater. It was also agreed that the RADARS May Rally in subsequent years become a fundraising activity for the repeater.

Hopefully this will ensure the continued operation of GB7MR, providing DMR access across the Greater Manchester area.

For amateur radio operator who are not familiar with the Northern Cluster, the cluster is a group of eight DMR repeaters across the north of England, connected to the OpenDMR hub at the same level as Phoenix DMR, allowing users to speak to others around the world.
